Pressurised water is provided by two systems each equipped with its own type of filtration:
- washing and flushing water is passed through a pool type filter and stored in 1 m3 inboard tank.
- drinking and cooking water is passed through ceramic/active carbon/silver filters that eliminate anything above 0.2 micron size; bacterias, amoebas, etc. and stored in glass lined tank.
Both tanks have metallic silver plates to prevent any bacterial, alga, etc growth.

Twin Penta Volvo marine diesel engines with turbocharger and intercooler power the boat. Twin power plants give an all time security that at least one engine would be in working condition. Both engines have the highest Rating I. In other words, these engines can be used at a maximum power without time limitation. A reserve of diesel fuel offers autonomy of over 1000 km. between refueling.

A large cabin below the deck with tile lined table, serves as an office / work place where geological and geophysical instruments and tools are stored and serviced.

A diesel generator offers 110/220 V AC and a set of lead batteries supply 24 V DC for emergency or night illumination.

A 14 m. long canoe permanently trails behind the boat. It is used for local excursions or also can be used for a safety evacuation. A satellite telephone, HF and VHF radios, complemented by GPS, offer constant connection with the outside world.

The boat complies with all safety rules, has fire-fighting equipment and front and back anti-flooding walls preventing flooding in case of collision.
