ARUTAM la versíon española la version française

THE HYPOSTASIS

With the name of hypostasis of Arutam are indicated all the beings that he becomes and that they occupy the superior being's position, being objects, animals, etc.. at the moment that inside these, the protective spirit is.

Arutam can be Etsa when he comes to the hunter's help; Ayumpam when he helps the warrior; Nunkui when it arrives providential to satisfy the woman's necessities in the vegetable garden.

In the visions of the Shuar he have been identified as: Payar (fire ball), Yawa (tiger), Pinchu (sparrow hawk), Yampuna (macaw), Tsukanka (toucan), Yantana (tigrillo), Panki (anaconda), Churunsia (harpy eagle), Kaniats (cayman), Kunkuim (turtle), Pana (tapir), Wankanim (water caw), Aekan (bird), Wichi (tree), Secha (bird of beautiful colors), Atashiak (mountain bird similar to a rooster), Sunka (mountain rooster), Ampush (owl), Nianchun (anteater bear), Shushui (armadillo), etc... The Shuar that looks for Arutam, is generally surprised by one of these beings, rarely the Shuar can have idea of what hypostasis of superior being Arutam, he will sees at the moment; either in the rite of the cascade or in other different rites like, that of maikiua, natem, tsaank, etc..

From the beginning it will be something to what the person doesn't have faith, is not convinced, and, this is damned for Arutam. The person that truly demonstrates with his attitude of trusts that some being that is transformed is the one that will give him force, doesn't fear.

Arutam has become anyone of its hypostasis, at the moment of the vision gives a message; the message is transmitted by the same being that has the mysterious force inside him; although being an animal is not the true animal, after exploding he gives the message and he gets lost with the sound waves heading for the cascade.

In the moment of the vision he is identified with the being that you see, it will be an animal, object, etc.. But when he explodes to take person's form to transmit the power, one feels that somebody touches the body of the Shuar to remove everything that that can be principle of the wrong in his body (health) or in his life (family etc.) and to give him the good and new life. The message comes from the animal with the man's voice, as same as we will pronounce it, that is Arutam that transmits us the vigor, courage or forces: in the form of speaking, for the development in the war, for the luck, etc..

Once the Shuar had this vision, he acquires a very different type of behavior.

I will demonstrate with an example the vision of a Shuar: Arutam becomes a sparrow hawk combating an owl, a fight was to get something that he had inside, the adult that saw it was so valiant that at once he felt the presence of a superior being, and, although he didn't have any idea of Arutam he faced him without fear; the transmitted message came from the same beings and he conquered them, staying within him the mysterious force.
