LIVING ARUTAM EXPERIENCE la versíon española la version française

Ayahuasca is literally the spiritual vine.

Since immemorial times, forest people in Amazon basin used ayahuasca, in combination with other plants, as source of wisdom and ultimate option medicine. The western culture catalogue ayahuasca as a mind altering plant and chooses to ignore it. We, live in the area where it grows and where forest people still use it for the original reason. In the course of our lives here, we become exposed to spiritual and physiological benefits of ayahuasca and now we don't have any doubts or reticence related to its use.

First, ayahuasca is the most potent physiological medicine we had opportunity to observe. Everybody, after even one time use, feels better the next day. While after using small doses over a period of few weeks, many "incurable" health conditions amazingly go away. Second, ayahuasca is the most appropriate means to get in contact with one's spiritual double and establish a connection between our conscious mind and our spirit. It's effect, when used in proper context, is very visual and don't leave any place for speculations about the meaning of each message.

When we speak about proper context, we mean a physiological, emotional and mental preparation before the first ceremony. It takes at least 2 days to get to this point. The method involves immersion with the surrounding living nature, specific alimentary restrictions, and physical / psychological exercises. This preparatory period is indispensable to derive a maximum benefit from the ayahuasca ceremony.

The ayahuasca ceremony, under the guidance of a Shaman traditionally takes place in the night in most appropriate conditions reproducing a native environment with fireplace, hummocks, etc. We believe that most beneficial are personal ceremonies where only an individual, a couple or a group of friends participate. By a principle, we are opposed to mass ceremonies practiced by some commercialization conscious shamans.

To participate in the ceremony you most come to us first:
We are in Puerto Misahualli ( misahualli.html ), a small village at the end of the road in oriental part of Ecuador. Between Puerto Misahualli, Ecuador and Manaus, Brazil there is few thousands of kilometers of virgin jungle. Puerto Misahualli is at the limit of a territory occupied by few native tribes, which up to now had successfully resisted to be "civilized". Puerto Misahualli is only six hours of a direct bus from Quito, Ecuador. When you reach Quito on your own, call: 06 289 0034 and we will provide you with detailed information how to get from there to Puerto Misahualli. You may stay at: Cayman Hotel in Quito http://www.hotelcaymanquito.com and the owners; Halina and Walter, our friends, will send you to us on the only bus line that reaches Puerto Misahualli directly from Quito.

As you get off this bus we will take care of all your needs. You will stay on the houseboat ( ../amazon/boat.html ) we have tied on Napo River where you will have appropriate privacy and comfort. You will take a walk with us bath in mineral springs then float down the rapids of Misahualli River. The next day we will explore jungle paths observing birds and plants around us. In the evening we will participate in the first ceremony. The following day you will relax in the open bridge of the houseboat enjoying sun and occasional dips in the river. In the evening you may want to participate in a second ceremony. We will provide you with fresh food and all additional attractions.

All these costs are included in one time fee.

The shaman leading the ceremony is Esteban Grefa (misahualli.html ), Kichwa native, well known in Ecuador for success of his folk dance group. We have selected him for his integrity and deep understanding of his tradition and because he is a hereditary son of a well known shaman's family. In other words, we provide you with the best quality all the way. At the end of 3 days and 4 nights you may extend your stay or choose to go on visiting beautiful Ecuador.

The one time fee for ayahuasca ceremony and 3 days 4 nights stay plus all necessities and activities involved is: US$300 per person.
